The Mars Ball Valve series 88 heavy duty is A high performance Three Piece Ball Valve,  full or reduced bore with Stainless Steel body and Carbon filled reinforced PTFE seat and seals, a raised ISO 5211 mounting pad and square stemed top for direct actuation. Ends can be specified as BSP screwed or socket weld, other end types are available and shown below. A latch lock lever supplied as standard.

Product Description

The Mars Ball Valve has a blow out proof stem and an antistatic device between the stem and body and stem and ball. Fully encapsulated body seals allows welding in line without disassembly.

The high cycle life stem design is accomplished by a double sealing system. The 45° Pyramidal Segment Ring in conjunction with a seal that fits on top of the Pyramidal segment provides the primary seal. Most of the media in the pipeline is contained by this seal. As a precautionary measure a V ring chevron packing provides the secondary sealing. On top of the stem is a set of Belleville washers that automatically adjusts compression to the seal to compensate for wear, pressure or temperature fluctuations.

Fire safe certified to API607 (4th edition). Antistatic PED approval. ANSI B16.34. Test to EN10204.

Body: CF8M (DIN 1.4408) stainless steel or WCB (DIN 1.0619) carbon steel.
Temperature: -60°F (-51°C) to 420°F (215°C).
Pressure: 1/4″ – 1″ 2000 psi (138 bar)
1.1/4″ – 2″ 1500 psi (103 bar)
Ball & Stem 316 stainless steel.

The above specification is for the valve body, the specification of the reinforced PTFE seats will vary. They have a maximum pressure rating of 1500 psi (103 bar) at 100°F (38°C) degrading to a maximum temperature of 420° (215°C).
